The Deal Thread · No. 004 · September 2026 · Monthly investor & stakeholder update

Contact

Welcome back to The Deal Thread. June's update was about momentum. July's was about conversion. August's was about the distance closed. September's is about one thing: contact.

  • The product went in front of the people it was built for.

  • The market answered in Park City: 20 meetings and 15 beta cohort conversations ongoing.

  • The business can now book clients and revenue, and a seed round is opening.

Here is where things stand.

01 · Product

From build to beta

For three months this section reported on what we were building with Sembit. This month it reports on what acquirers saw.

In Park City we walked deal teams through ACQYRE end to end: targets scored against the underwriting, findings moving the economics, integration tied to the return case. One system, one thread.

In the beta cohort, acquirers help us finish the product. Members do three things:

Why the beta matters

Deal value leaks at the handoffs. The beta is where we prove, on real deals, that the golden thread holds.

02 · Market signal

What Park City told us

On September 28 and 29, the M&A Next Symposium put us in a room with some of the construction sector's most active acquirers. The problem we built for is the one they feel.

Heard more than once

Three things we heard, more than once

  1. They spend too much time on the wrong targetsMonths go to deals that never fit the underwriting.
  2. Their thesis thread breaks between strategy and integrationWhat justified the price at signing is hard to find once integration starts.
  3. Their diligence findings do not travelWhat landed hardest: a finding that carries straight into the integration plan as a task with an owner.

We found most teams cobbling together individual data rooms and project management tools, and many still operating in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. What nobody in the room had was a tool that connects all the moving parts. That is where the return is delivered or lost.

03 · Marketing

Turning a room into a pipeline

Since Park City, the work is follow-through with Antoine and the Kalungi team.

04 · Launch roadmap

From beta to bookings

We are now in a position to start booking clients and revenue. First agreements come from the October walkthroughs and the beta cohort, and we expect bookings to accelerate in November.

05 · Capital formation

A $3M seed to fund the run

With the product in front of buyers and revenue starting, we are opening our seed round.

The round funds the path from first bookings to 36 paying customers in year one, targeted profitability in year two, and 227 customers by the end of year three.
